Alison Bell is a textile artist who collaborated with Professor Cathy Treadway on her PhD project ‘Digital Imaging: It’s current and future influence upon the creative practice of textile and surface pattern designers’.

Her digital work explores the juxtaposition of traditional textile techniques with wide format digital prints. She is currently studying towards her own PhD ‘examining how artistic ways of knowing impact on the ageing process.’

She is inspired by her surroundings on the Isle of Arran, Scotland, including the affects of nature upon habitat (erosion, storms, weather).
