Francesco Simeti is a New York based artist who uses digitally printed textiles as his medium. His patterns hide a darker message as he frequently uses images from the media, such as pictures of kitenges (a type of female dress worn by women in Darfur) to question and highlight human nature. His works can be seen as digital collages, inspired by found images.
Because he is not a textile designer and his images are frequently found images or photographic it is difficult to talk about a particular colour palette. But obviously colour is important to Francesco because in order for his work to have an affect it needs to mimic traditional textile prints and wall coverings to visually confuse the viewer.
