I really like London Design Week, particularly the displays at Tent and the individual exhibitions. Some of the larger shows can be a bit overwhelming and you don’t feel like you get to see everything, and some of the shows can be a bit, well, ‘showy’ and you don’t feel like you’re getting to see anything new or interesting, just slick slick slick.

Anyhow I visited Tent London, in Brick Lane, in September 2015, small baby in sling (a grand 5 months old), and trekked round the stalls. Textiles and surface coverings aren’t always massively represented at these shows, it tends to be more lighting, furniture, product design,  but I was really pleased to see stands by Deborah Bowness, b goods, beautiful Finnish fabrics, Feathr, sumptious hung fabrics from Karin Carlander as well as  a huge display from Dulux on colour trends – GOLD GOLD GOLD!
