TexPrint is a prestigious industry run organisation which selects a number of textile graduates each year to mentor. These graduates are presented at a select exhibition in London, this year held at Chelsea College of Design, Premiere Vision in Paris, and awarded various opportunities such as skills training, internships and promoted through the TexPrint website.

I attended the London exhibition to get a gage of the types of print making coming out of recent undergraduate and postgraduate courses and to speak with the designers themselves. I was really pleased to see such a wide range of print making and many of the designers were happy to speak to me about their experiences with digital printing and colour. This has led onto further conversations with a number of these designers about how they manage colour when using digital inkjet textile printing.

Designs about are by Emma Kendall, Amy Smith, Crimson Rose O’Shea and Isla Middleton.
